When Yelp businesses attack back:

Bookstore owner tracks down unlisted address of review writer ”calling the reviewer a ‘pussy boy’ and a ‘coward’” and gets into physical altercation after a dozen or so hateful remarks to his original post which says little more than that the store is a “total mess.”

This happens to me on a nearly weekly basis, not the physical altercations, but nasty messages. Thank goodness Yelp has rules that protect true criticisms. If my reviews were actually inappropriate they’d be taken down by Yelp staff.

Thank goodness someone is discussing this subject. I thought I was the only own.

PS the bookstore owner says she was only trying to apologize and won’t discuss how she found his unlisted address to track him down and attack the man.

i’ve wanted to re-watch some of the episodes and i found all seven seasons compiled here in various formats.

for anyone not familiar with the show…here’s a synopsis:

Are You Afraid of the Dark? revolves around a group of teenagers who refer to themselves as “The Midnight Society”. Every week, at a secret location in the woods, one member would tell a scary story to the group. The themes of the stories usually revolve around a variety of paranormal phenomena such as ghosts, goblins, magic, haunted houses, magical curses, aliens, witches and the like coming into contact with normal teenagers. Sources of these tales vary in different ways; many are adaptations of fairytales, short stories and urban legends. For example, “The Tale of the Twisted Claw” is considered to be an adaptation of W.W. Jacobs’ legendary short story, “The Monkey’s Paw”.
